What is Ottawa Tech?

Ottawa Tech is a crowdsourced directory of tech companies and startups in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. I started the project in November 2017 by building a spreadsheet of the companies I was applying to — it turned out other people found that research useful too, so I put it all in one place.

What’s the plan for Ottawa Tech?

I want to make it easy to find relevant information during a job hunt. I’m always looking for more companies in the area to complete the directory — feel free to send me a message if yours is missing.

How was Ottawa Tech built?

The first version didn’t need any code — I built it with Carrd and Airtable. Since I wanted to break into tech as a front-end developer, I figured a version 2 would be a good way to learn.

Ottawa Tech is built with Next.js and Tailwind CSS on the front end, backed by Supabase.
